A January snow on January 17 continued a very cold January.

Thanks to Leland and Jane Strange for hosting our January gathering of the Tech BSU Alumni group on January 20.

Winter activities.

For our Mardi Gras blessing, Jeff and family visited February 11-13.

We enjoyed a Ga Tech BSU Alumni gathering at the Georgia Baptist Assembly in Toccoa, March 9-11.

The MFBC Choirs did a celebration musical "Hallelujah Amen" on March 25.

Ashleigh and Jordan went to the Piedras Negras area of Mexico on a BCM mission trip during their spring break, March 26-30.

Rod and Glen Leckman did a presentation for Reasons to Believe, Atlanta, on " The Wonder of Water", March 29.

We enjoyed the birds of spring and the emergence of new life.

We had Vacation Bible School June 3-7 with the theme "Game On".

On June 22, our 56th Anniversary, we headed out to Hawaii with Jeff and Darla. On Saturday evening we headed out on the Norwegian Cruise Ship "The Pride of America" and on July 24 we visited Maui, driving first to the Haleakala Crater. From there we drove the southeast coast road and then returned on the crooked road from Hana. On July 25 we visited Paia Beach near Kahului. On July 26 we arrived in Hilo, Hawaii and explored the volcanic area as well as a black sand beach with nesting turtles. Leaving Hilo, our ship passed by the south end of Hawaii in view of the volcanic activity from Kiluaea. In Kona, Hawaii on June 27 the ship anchored in the bay and we spent the day on a Land and Sea tour. On June 28 the ship reached Nawilliwilli on Kauai and we explored Waimea Canyon. On June 29 we cruised by the Na Pali Coast. On June 30 we returned to Honolulu and headed back toward Atlanta.

Summer activities.

Jeff and family visit July 26-30. On Friday the 27th we visited Mark on the movie set and then went to Stone Mountain. On Saturday the 28th Rod and Jordan went to Bent Tree to greet the Spanish congregation at their picnic and to check on the house. On Sunday after lunch we went to Sweetwater Park in the afternoon.

More Summer activities

In memory of Nikolaus Dietz, a colleague at Georgia State University, July 24.

In memory of Billy Nowell, longtime friend from Georgia Tech BSU days. He went to be with the Lord on August 9.

On August 11 a redhead woodpecker and its youngster visited.

We continued to enjoy our backyard wildlife.

On August 31 we headed for Pearl River to visit on the Labor Day weekend.

We celebrated the 59th Anniversary of the South Cobb Class of 1959 on September 22.

Fall activities

On October 11-14 we traveled to Charlotte, NC for the National Conference on Christian Apologetics. We also visited Mary and John Keefe and Carole Richardson.

The Georgia Baptist College of Nursing alumni day was on October 19.

On October 20 we gathered with the Ga. Tech BSU alumni group at the Petty's and also celebrated the 50th Anniversary of Norman and Barbara.

On November 3 we enjoyed a social for our Sunday School class at the Weaver's.

We looked forward to Jeff, Darla, and Elyse's arrival for their Thanksgiving visit on November 17. Brenda had an emergency stay in the hospital, but we rejoiced that she was able to come home for Thanksgiving Dinner.

We had our Reasons to Believe Christmas Social at the Stockyard restaurant near Johnson's Ferry Baptist Church on November 29.

Rod was recruited to do an interview on the history of Kell Hall at Georgia State University on December 4.

We headed out for Pearl River on Friday, December 21. We enjoyed Christmas morning at Jeff's house and then joined the traditional Christmas celebration at the Moyle home. We celebrated Elyse's birthday on December 26.
