Na₃Mg(CO₃)₂Cl

This sample of northupite is displayed in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Northupite is a carbonate mineral of sodium and magnesium that contains chlorine. It has the composition Na₃Mg(CO₃)₂Cl. The sample at left is about 1.5 cm across.
