LanthanumLanthanum forms colorless compounds similar to those of aluminum. It has yet to find much importance in use. It is usually found in nature with scandium and yttrium and the fourteen members of the lanthanide series. The mineral monazite is a source of lanthanum. Lanthanum is found in the fluorides Parisite and bastnaesite. It is found in the silicate mineral allanite.
