Ca(Fe,Mn)Mg₂Al₂(PO₄)₄(OH)₂.8H₂O

This sample of Whiteite is displayed in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Whiteite refers to a phosphate mineral of multiple metal ions. The term Whiteite is currently used in the sense of a Whiteite group. This particular sample contains calcium, iron, manganese, magnesium and aluminum. Its composition is given as Ca(Fe,Mn)Mg₂Al₂(PO₄)₄(OH)₂.8H₂O. The sample at left is about 5x7 cm and is from Rapid Creek, Yukon Territory, Canada.
