This sample of leucophanite is displayed in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Leucophanite is a silicate mineral which contains beryllium and fluorine with the composition NaCaBeSi2O6F. The sample at left is about 6x9 cm across and is from Langesundsfjord, Norway. The sample is described as leucophane with aegirine.
