Creedite

Ca3Al2SO4(OH)2F8.2H2O

These samples of creedite are displayed in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Creedite is a sulfate mineral that contains fluorine with the composition Ca3Al2SO4(OH)2F8.2H2O. The sample at left is about 18 cm across and is from Santa Eulalia, Chihuahua, Mexico.

This sample of creedite is from Aktchatau, Balkhash, Kazakhstan. It is about 6x14 cm.
