Flip-Flops"Flip-flop" is the common name given to two-state devices which offer basic memory for sequential logic operations. Flip-flops are heavily used for digital data storage and transfer and are commonly used in banks called "registers" for the storage of binary numerical data.

MultivibratorsTwo-state devices called multivibrators are used extensively in digital electronics. The bistable multivibrators are called flip-flops and are the basic memory devices used in sequential logic. Other two-state devices include the astable multivibrator which serves as an oscillator and the monostable multivibrator ("one-shot" multivibrator) which can serve as a pulse source. |
