Caribou on the return trip

August 11, 1992

We came upon a group of four caribou beside the road and they ran beside us. Caribou look more natural running than they do standing still.

Running ahead of us, the caribou crossed the road in front of our bus. Seeing another yellow bus ahead of us was a common experience on the Denali Park road.

The bus window framed the view behind us as we traveled the dirt road cut into the low hills.
