Illumination Station

2026 Vacation Bible School

June 7-11, 2026

The "Illumination Station" theme focuses on Jesus as the Light of the World. John 8:12 "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." We learned the theme song in our music sessions in the different age groups and sang it in the opening sessions.

Many thanks to Becky Ridgway for organizing and directing the VBS and to Barbara Floyd (left) and Betsy Weaver (right) for checking in the boys and girls and managing the process.

The VBS reaches out to our whole community, so the checkin process is a good opportunity to meet the families of the boys and girls who come.

The VBS meeting starts with a few minutes of recreation where the youth and others throw balls down from the balcony and the boys and girls throw them around and at each other.

Boys and girls and even some adults were enthusiastic about this daily beachball battle!

After this brief recreation, Pastor Doug led us in prayer and recitation of John 8:12 and then we sang the theme song for Illumination.

Each evening, a person from each age group was brought to the stage to answer a question from the preceding Bible teaching. If they were able to answer the question, they were allowed to pick a prize from the gift bag.

After watching a segment of the video Bible adventure, the groups are led by their leaders to their activity rooms. This Kindergarten and 1st grade group is led by Teresa Lamb

The different age groups had a series of Bible learning activities in their activity rooms:Bible Study, Missions, Crafts, and Music as well as a segment for snacks and recreation.
