2026 Awana Celebration at MFBC
May 13, 2026
The annual Awana Celebration at MFBC recognizes the achievements of the Awana students in learning Scriptures and studying the Bible together in this program which involves boys and girls from Preschool to 5th grade. In addition to the awards and recognitions, the students are able to choose prizes from the Awana Store with points collected from their Bible Learning. We also celebrate with a visit from the Kona Ice van with icy treats.
| The celebration took place in the Sanctury, designed by Becky for maximum participation by the Awana boys and girls. It was introduced by a slide show of images from the Awana meetings of the year. |
Every effort was made to highlight the achievements of the Awana boys and girls in the Bible-based curriculum of Awana. They wore either the red vests pf the younger Sparks Awanas (up to grade2) or the green vests of the older Truth & Training Awana group (grades 3-5). The emblems attached to their vests indicate their level of achievement in Bible learing.
| A large part of the intent of this celebration was the involvement of the families. So the event was observed by the parents and other family members of the Awanas. |
Pastor Doug greets the group and leads the opening prayer. He is greeted by his oldest grandson who is a Cubbie Awana.
| The program was started the same way we start the weekly Awana meetings, with pledges to the American flag and the Awana flag. |
The third pledge in the Awana opening ceremony is the pledge to the Bible. The Bible is held by one of the Awanas.
| Most of the program was the recognition of Bible study accomplishments. This group is a part of the Kindergarten and 1st Grade group, and the symbols on they red vests represent the accomplishments. |
This additional group from the Kindergarten and 1st grade group have the same awards as above but an additional necklace of accomplishment.
| These T&T Awanas have numerous awards as patches but received the additional necklace awards. |
This portion of the T&T group are displaying the certificates of accomplishment they have received
| Evan, the T&T Awana on the left, received a unique award that no one in our group had gotten. Beyond the requirements of the Awana books, he had learned 150 extra verses. |
Becky announces that Lotte has achieved the highest level of anyone in our T&T Awana group.
| These Awana boys and girls received award certificates for perfect or near-perfect attendance at this year's Awana meetings. |
A note of appreciation for these two T&T Asanas who were very good friends and both had a high level of achievement in Bible learning and recitation.
