Summer/Fall Awana at MFBC

May 28, 2025

This late May session of Awana was just before our Vacation Bible School for this year, The session began with activities like the large Jenga set of blocks.

For the beginning recreation time, the Awanas were given a free choice of anything in the game closet. Some chose games, some chose building. The large Jenga block set was a popular choice.

This pair built a tall tower.

A tall Jenga tower, but it inevitably comes down! But this was a very satisfying crash!

Another Jengacrash is always popular but now we move on to other activities.

Mrs Becky led us in thinking about the Bible and preparing for a series on learning the books of the Bible.

After our pledges, the Awana group settled in for snack time. Johnny Huffman and Tony Mode accompany them.

Mrs Becky starts the new summer series on learning the books of the Bible. She distributed cards with the names of the Bible books.

Each Awana student was given some cards with Bible book names. They began to lay out these cards from the Old Testament in order, starting with Genesis.

Now each Awana was given a Bible and time to study the list of the Old Testament books so they could lay out the Bible book cards in the proper order.

Next they checked out the list of Old Testament books and learned how to search for verses.

The Awanas continued to study the list of books in the Bible through the Old Testament and then the New Testament

We finished this session by asking some questions about the Bible books and encouraged them to learn to recite the books in order.

At the end of this session we had time for individual questions and discussion of how to read and value God's Word.
