MFBC Christmas Eve Service

This was our first MFBC Christmas Eve worship service in modern times since we have traveled to Louisiana for Christmas each year since Ashleigh was born in 1998, with the exception of the Covid year. Jeff and Darla and family made the trip to California this year, Ashleigh's first year out of Medical School and first year in the Navy at the Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital in Oceanside, California.

The church sanctuary was beautifully decorated and the musical leadership was provided by the praise team organized by our worship leader Timothy Thomas who led from the piano keyboard. L-R the team is Jared Coronado on guitar, Amee Wentz, Eddie Good, Melanie Thomas (Timothy's Mother), Timothy Thomas on keyboard, Joey Thomas (Timothy's Father) on guitar, and James Darden Jr. on guitar. Behind them are Hailey on Cello and Phillip Vineyard on Saxophone. Also on back right is Marsha Thompson on keyboard.

This team did a beautiful job of leading the congregation in a series of Christmas carols.

We enjoyed the view of the manger scene and the abundance of poinsettias that surrounded Marsha.

The beautiful stained glass window enhances all the decorations of the sanctuary.

Pastor Doug led us in a time of worship and reflection on gifts and then led us in the celebration of the Lord's Supper. We ended the service with lighting candles and singing a candlelight hymn.
